A favorite read meat marinade that’s been in the family for decades. Quick and easy to make, this simple marinade will guarantee your BBQ’s a hit at your next backyard party – the key is overnight soaking and lots of garlic.
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup oil ( vegetable or canola)
1/4 – 1/3 cup honey
3-6 large cloves garlic minced or crushed
Mix the liquids in a medium mixing bowl and blend with a whisk until the honey is completely dissolved. Add the garlic, a few dashes of black pepper and stir enough to mix in the garlic juices. Take extra chunks of garlic, pierce the meat and insert them in about 1/2″. Put the meat into a large Ziplock baggie, pour in the marinade and let soak for a few hours, preferrably overnight, before B-B-Q-ing.
Baste the meat every time it’s turned over, usually about 5 minutes. Serve with a smile, enjoy all the compliments from your guests, and be prepared to share your secret recipe!
